FAQ

Questions first-time visitors ask

When is the best time to visit Singapore?

Singapore is warm all year round. February to April is generally the driest and sunniest stretch, while the wetter months are November to January. Afternoon showers can happen at any time, so carry a compact umbrella.

Do I need a visa?

Many nationalities can enter visa-free for short stays, but rules vary by passport. Check the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website before you travel. Most visitors must also submit the free SG Arrival Card online within three days before arrival.

How do I get around?

The MRT subway is clean, fast and covers most attractions. Buses, taxis and ride-hailing apps fill the gaps. You can tap in and out on the MRT and buses using a contactless bank card or mobile wallet.

Is Singapore safe and easy for first-time visitors?

Yes. It is one of the safest cities in the world, English is widely spoken, and signage is clear. Do check local rules: littering carries fines, vaping is banned, and drinking in public is restricted during certain hours.

How many days do I need?

Three full days covers the highlights comfortably. Four to five days lets you add Sentosa, Pulau Ubin, the Night Safari and slower neighbourhood exploring.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes, tap water in Singapore is safe to drink, so bring a refillable bottle. You will want it in the heat.

Entry requirements and local rules can change. Please confirm with official sources, such as the ICA and the Singapore Tourism Board, before you travel.
