Orchard Road

The classic shopping boulevard. Walk between ION Orchard, Paragon, Ngee Ann City and department stores such as Takashimaya and Tangs, all linked by air-conditioned walkways.

Destination malls

Marina Bay Sands & Jewel

Both malls are attractions in themselves. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands has a canal with sampan rides, and Jewel pairs shopping with the Rain Vortex.

Streets & indie

Bugis & Haji Lane

Bargain-hunt at Bugis Street for souvenirs and accessories, then wander Haji Lane and Arab Street for independent labels, textiles and vintage finds.

Smart shopping

Tips before you spend

Claim your GST refund

Tourists can often claim back GST on qualifying purchases from participating shops. Ask for a tax refund form at the till and check the current minimum spend.

Bargain with a smile

Prices are fixed in malls, but you can negotiate in some small shops and markets in Chinatown and Little India.

Shop in the cool

Malls are well air-conditioned, so plan shopping for the hottest hours of the afternoon.

Mind opening hours

Most malls open mid-morning and close by 10pm. Mustafa Centre in Little India is open 24 hours.

Shop, then eat

Every good shopping day ends at a hawker centre.
